Who can be a Police Unity TourĀ® Rider?
RIDE members must be a sworn law enforcement officer, active or retired. Immediate family members of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty (survivors) may also participate as a RIDER. All participants must be at least 18 years of age. There is also a Special Friend of the Tour category.  These candidates are considered for appointment only after being submitted to the Board of Directors for final approval.  These candidates must have made a long term financial commitment to the Tour and be in good standing.  The process for consideration is as follows:

  • Written recommendation (electronic submission is acceptable) submitted for review by the Board of Directors.
  • The submission will be discussed at the next Board of Directors and voted on.
  • A majority vote is required for appointment as a "Special Friend of the Tour".
  • Any member designated as a "Special Friend of the Tour" will have the same rights and responsibilities as any Ride or Support member.

Who can be a Police Unity TourĀ® Support Team Member?

SUPPORT members must be an active or retired law enforcement officer, an immediate family member of an active or retired law enforcement officer, survivor or sponsored by a current RIDER.  All participants must be at least 18 years of age.

What are the dates of the ride?
Chapter VIII leaves on bicycles on May 10th and ride through until May 12th. The Candlelight Vigil is on May 13th.

What is required to participate?
First, you must become a member of the Police Unity Tour Chapter VIII.  Once a member, you will be required to register for the Police Unity Tour event. Ride and Support members are required to raise a minimum of $2000.00.  Ride members, in addition to the monetary requirement, are required to complete and submit qualifying rides of 75 and 50 miles.  

Note: The membership fee and registration fee are non-refundable and non-transferable.  However, the registration fee is tax deductible.

IMPORTANT: Registration for the ride is a two step process. You must register as a member of the Police Unity Tour and after your membership approval (please allow up to 12 hours for New Member applications) revisit this page and register for the actual ride event listed below.

Your spot IS NOT guaranteed until you have completed both steps below. You must pay the $25 fee for membership AND pay the $100  event registration for the 2024 Police Unity Tour.
